I sat down and got to thinking about what I thought about MADHOUSE.. and then I found this post on the Hartford Courant Website by Gene Haddock .. and it is was it :
Finally, somebody makes a racing/reality show that knows something about racing. Anyone who has ever been to a local short track more than once, has seen everyone of these characters.
*The old, dirty driver who people love to hate.
*The sons of a fan favorite, who have a ready made fan base.
*The arrogant upstart.
*The old independent, racing on a shoe string budget.
Unlike most 'reality' shows, "Madhouse" didn't have to manufacture these characters. They're already there, and they are very realistic. After viewing one show, I'll go so far as to proclaim this the best racing project of all time... TV or movie. Fiction, or non-fiction.
