ASA Late Model Series/Sunoco National Tour PR
Easter Weekend typically means no NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. This allows drivers in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series to have their time in the spotlight of stock car racing. All eyes of the stock car world were glued to the 1.33 mile, D-shaped, concrete surface at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee this weekend, where the Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series teams took to the track. Let’s take a look and see how some of the graduates of the ASA Late Model Series faired in the weekends action.
James Buescher, who was pulling double duty in Nashville this weekend, carried the banner in the Camping world Truck Series for the ASA Late Model Series graduates. Bueshcer, who won the ASA Late Model Series South Division Championship in 2007, finished 13th in his Great Clips Toyota Tundra. On Saturday, Bueshcer would get taken out by another competitor; ending his day with a fiery crash and forcing him to settle for a 34th place finish.
Bowling Green, Kentucky native, Dillon Oliver, found victory lane two times in 2009 in the Sunoco National Tour Series. Oliver won at Iowa Speedway and then claimed the checkers again at Memphis Motorsports Park in the season ending King’s Ransom 300. Oliver piloted his Komadrinks.com Chevrolet Silverado to a 23rd place finish Friday night.
