Baer Field Speedway is proud to announce that, after a four-year absence, Outlaw Super Late Models will return to the Speedway on Saturday, July 18, 2009, for the running of the “Three Rivers Festival 100.”
Once a staple of the Speedway and the featured attraction for every major event, escalating costs and shrinking fields led to the Supers being dropped as a weekly class nearly a decade ago. In recent years, many area tracks and sanctioning bodies worked together to instill some cost-containing rules on what was once a largely “open-competition” class.
Among drivers expected to compete in the July 18, 100-lap Feature will be all-time leading Baer Field feature winner “Lightning Larry” Zent, fan favorite “Pink Panther” Jasper Case, CRA Champion Scott Hantz, Jack Landis, Bud Perry, Mike Kugler, Jason Shively, Brian Nester, Brent Jack, Jeff Parr, Fred Elkins, Dave Kuhlmann, Harold Fair Sr. & Jr., Glenn Gault Jr., Harry Foote Jr., Joe Ellert, Craig Everage, and many more!
A full program of Baer Field Speedway Late Models, Modifieds, and Street Stocks will complete a high-speed evening of racing. Adult admission will be $18; kids 7-12 are $5; no charge for anyone 6 and under and always plenty of FREE PARKING. Spectator gates open at 4:00, with qualifying at 5:30 and RACING at 7:30. A special Friday night practice will be help for the event from 5:00-10:00 PM.
The previously-scheduled event for the CRA Late Models has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 19, to create a spectacular double-header racing program with the HOSS Outlaw Winged Sprints.
Baer Field Speedway is located at 4331 Winters Road, one mile south of Fort Wayne International Airport off Bluffton Rd. Call 260-478-7223 or www.baerfieldspeedway.net for more information.
