After debuting at the 2007 Michigan Cup, the ABC Stock Car Series was scheduled to be relaunched on April 17, 2010, and it still will, but with a new identity. It has taken on the name of its new title sponsor and will be known as the Venom Stock Car Series, named after the Venom Energy Drink which is produced and distributed by the Dr. Pepper 7UP Bottling Company.
This series was already shaping up to be one of the hottest weekly short track racing divisions in Michigan and with its new identity and association with Venom Energy, it will step up to the next level as more and more excitement is added. If the 2007 Michigan Cup was any indication, the feature races every Saturday night at Springport in 2010 will produce some of the most competitive and action packed racing of the season, anywhere.
The Venom Stock Car Series targets the most common race cars in the state. The format and rules it uses allows almost any Sportsman, Street Stock, and Pure Stock, as well as other similar V8 powered rear wheel drive race cars to come and race. Similar to bracket racing at the drag strips, the drivers and their cars are placed in classes and features based on their qualifying times. The fastest will be in the A-Main, the slowest in the C-Main, and everything in between will race in the B-Main. However, with more cars than can be run in 3 features, there could also be a D-Main and even more. The more cars there are, the closer the competition will be in each feature. At the end of the season, there will be an A-Main Champion, a B-Main Champion, and a C-Main Champion.
In addition to sponsoring the Venom Stock Car Series, the Dr. Pepper/7Up Bottling Company will be the official soft drink provider of Springport Motor Speedway. Dr. Pepper has been producing its unique soft drink for over 125 years, since 1885. The company has become one of the largest soft drink providers in North America and markets over 50 brands of beverages. Some of these that you will find at the concession stand at the speedway include Dr. Pepper and 7Up, of course, along with RC Cola, Diet Rite, A&W Root Beer, Vernors, Squirt, Country Time Lemonade, Arizona Iced Tea, Deja Blue water, All Sport Body Quencher, HYDRIVE Energy, and of course, Venom Energy.
Venom Energy can be found at your local Meijer store as well as many other grocery stores, party stores, and convenience stores, and of course at the concession stand at Springport Motor Speedway. To learn more please visit, venomenergy.com.
