The Everage Auto Wide Open Tour will have another history making night at Angola Motor Speedway, featuring three headlining classes. The Budweiser Super Late Models, Super Pro Series, and Short Track Trucks will be headlining a full 6-in-1 show on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. The Smith Enterprise Mini Stocks, Johnny on the Spot Street Stocks, along with the Front Wheel Drives will round out the show.

The Budweiser Super Late Models will race 75 laps for $2,000 to win, with 30 Outlaw Super Late Models expected. There is a big field of cars expected for their last chance to “tune and test” for the “Stan Perry Memorial Race ” to be held on June 11th. The names that are expected to jam the pits are Scott “Hurricane” Hantz, “Jumping” Jack Landis, “Lightning” Larry Zent, Mike Luberda, John Doering (round one winner), Justin May, and several other big names and out of town drivers.  The Super Pro Series will kick their season off with a 75 lap feature, expecting around 25 cars for their season opener. The cars and stars that are expected to race are Mike Kugler, Rick Everidge, Jack Landis, Ryan Inman, Matt Hall, Kevin Todd, Al Cook, Rob Buckley, Jason Dietsch, and more.

The Short Track Trucks will also be presenting their first race of the season. The series will be expecting around 20 trucks.  If above mentioned is not enough, there is more!  All you race fans come on out for free camping all weekend!  Join us starting Friday night for Open Practice!  Saturday’s racing program will start at 7:00 p.m. as Angola Motor Speedway presents Sonlight Community Church Night, associate sponsor Montpelier Auto Auction and the WAWK “HAWK” truck will be on hand to give out all kinds of free stuff!!  BE THERE!

The record books were shattered at the Angola Motor Speedway on Saturday night May 2nd with a record 44 Super Late Models jammed into the pits. The Main Event Super Late Models saw one of their biggest car counts in series history and also made their first appearance ever at the Angola Motor Speedway. Also the front wheel drive (FWD) class made their first appearance at the track helping jam the pits full with 88 cars on the opening night for the Wide Open Tour.

The 100 Lap Main Event Series saw some great racing action.  Chad Finley from the Spartan Speedway and Berlin Raceway took the early lead and held off hard charging Angola Motor Speedway veteran Jack Landis for over 40 laps.  Landis started to fall back as Jimmy Carter and John Doering, Jr. started to work their way through the field.  The feature win went to Doering, Jr. followed by Chad Finley, Canadian Mike Luberda, Jr., Mike Kugler, Gary Whipkey, Jack Landis, Don Harvey, Jimmy Carter, Doug Sommers, and Charlie Schultz rounding out the top 10.

The Angola Motor Speedway “Mod Squad” saw Brian Nester set quick time with a lap of 14.832 at 91.019 MPH besting 19  Superior Auto Modifieds.  Nester battled with Dick Maurer to capture the win.

The 20 lap FWD feature saw Ohio veteran Chad Poorman hang on for the win over Little, Moyer, Zach Henderson, and Gene Fisher rounding out the top 5.
